NovaGrass© is one of the most durable, comfortable courts you can own.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long does NovaGrass® take to install?
Installation time, weather permitting, is 2-˝ to 3 days, start to finish.

  2. Is NovaGrass glued down; does it need to be anchored or stretched?
No. The weight of the sand is more than sufficient to hold the material in place; therefore, there is no need to anchor or stretch. Relaxation of the court and aggregate are key to comfortable play.

  3. What kind of base does NovaGrass need?
NovaGrass can be put on asphalt, concrete, or any stable rock base including existing cracked and deteriorated courts, following preparation.

  4. Won't the sand be moved around during play?
The sand does not move around because of NovaGrass' unique design. When the sand is filtered into the fiber, a mat-like network of intertwined strands hold the sand in place. Although NovaGrass tends to resiliently yield under ball impact, player foot pressure and the like, it is stabilized against permanent shifting and dispersal of sand by wind blowing conditions. Thus, the surface is easy to apply and maintain for long periods of time.

  5. Won't the sand run out when it rains?
Because of the unique design, most moisture will run through the sand and then off the court, but will not move the sand.

  6. Will the color fade in the sun?
There is no noticeable fading of the NovaGrass materials due to sunlight. Materials have been stabilized against ultraviolet (UV) rays.

  7. What about maintenance?
Once NovaGrass is installed, it requires a check-up after the first month to ensure proper compaction. NovaGrass should be brushed periodically to maintain uniform playing characteristics, including a yearly tune-up which is recommended to maintain peak playing conditions.
